Understanding Your Bill

Have a question about your bill? No worries, our explanation of your bill will guide you through the different items that appear on your bill. Here is an overview of each section of your service bill statement.
Residential
Payment options
There are many ways to pay your monthly bill - return the statement in the mail, pay by telephone, pay online, pay in cash at any Western Union or Global Express location or sign up for automatic payments using either a credit card account or direct debit payment. Balance Information
The Balance Information provides a summary of your charges, payments and adjustments for the prior month as well as a summary of your current charges. It has been separated into 2 sections to make it easier to understand how the balance is calculated.
Important Messages
We use this area to communicate any changes that may apply to your account or to inform you about features of interest.
Line Details
This section lists all monthly line charges and features billed during the service period for each individual phone line. Note that you are billed in advance for a full month.
Taxes & Fees
Federal, state and local governments require telephone companies to collect an assortment of fees and taxes. These amounts may vary depending upon state, county and municipality where you have service. For explanations of these charges, please Click Here.
Call Details
All toll charges are displayed in the Call Details section. This includes number called, location, call length and the amount charged for that call. Also, calls for each line are now detailed by call type. The various call types include the following:
- International
- Interstate 1
- Interstate 800
- Intrastate 1
- Intrastate 800
- Directory Assistance
- Operator
- Offshore

This area is used to summarize any payments or adjustments posted to the account during the prior service period. It includes the date, amount and description of the payment/credit.
Account Summary
This includes a summary of all the charges on the account including Product Charges, Usage/Toll Charges, Taxes and Fees and Other Charges.
Product Summary
This includes a summary of all the Product and Usage Charges by individual phone line as well as breakdown of items included in the Taxes, Fees and Other Charges sections.
Line Details
This section lists all monthly line charges and features billed during the service period for each individual phone line. Note that you are billed in advance for a full month.
